“Physical things don’t need to be physical.” Mark Zuckerberg’s vision for AR
We’ve been saying that augmented reality has been around for quite some time, but most experts are predicting that this is the decade when AR becomes a part of our daily routine. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO is betting big on this emerging field of technology.
Mark Zuckerberg has a vision for the future, and it involves a lot less stuff. It is not new, not even for Facebook which uses it to power face-distorting camera lenses, but it will become a lot more than just funny faces for photos in the next years.
“The technology platform of the 2010s was the mobile phone. While I expect phones to still be our primary devices through most of this decade, at some point in the 2020s, we will get breakthrough augmented reality glasses that will redefine our relationship with technology." Mark Zuckerberg recently wrote on one of his Facebook posts.
Obviously we agree.
At TROIA, we have been working with augmented reality for a few years now. As EAM specialists we decided to enable the integration of innovative AR technology and client’s EAM or other information systems, which allows combining the advantages of AR technology to create a powerful advanced tool for interpreting and visualizing data.
With a range of applications, TROIA AR Platform offers advanced capabilities and abilities that enable technicians, field workers, and experts to repair and maintain assets with greater safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Enterprises are starting to recognize the benefits in the field of workforce training, simplifying knowledge transfer, reducing skill gap, visualizing data, remote services, manufacturing, operations, improving quality and first-time success rate to drive operational efficiencies.
It is expected, that companies which will invest in AR technology now, will have a great advantage in the next years.
